Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow

Some may think New York FOF women are a little more hard-nosed and competitive than FOFs throughout the land, but we’re really softies at heart.

Even the New York chairs took a rest (photo by Lina Perl)

When it snows hard like it did today, we don’t rush out to brave the storm, anxious to get to work.  We love staying in our homes—and, in my case, in my flannel PJs. It’s thrilling that we don’t have to rush around, like we always do.  And we certainly don’t miss cramming ourselves into subway cars with 10,000 other people.

The streets are empty. The mood is peaceful. The snow is calming. Those adjectives hardly ever describe New York, especially Manhattan, where I live.

I thank New York for making me the FOF woman I am today, which includes the pain-in-the-neck and frenetic parts of my personality.

I thank the snow for giving me—and New York—a little breather for one day.

    Geri,
The FOF logo is great. If you haven’t already got it in the works, you should plan on offering a nice shirt with the logo. Put me down for several!

    Hi Nancy,

Thank you so much. We talked about a tee-shirt, but weren’t sure if women would wear it. You’ve convinced me to do it. Tell me what you think: long sleeve or short? Logo on back or front?

When I got home from a very long, noisy busy day at work (no snow days for nurses!), I got out of the car and just…listened. It was absolutely silent, cold, crisp and the snow sparkled in the streetlights. It was one of those moments you want to put away for when you need it.
Love the tee-shirt idea. I vote for long sleeves, logo on the front or back, maybe prefer the back…

I absolutely would agree….but if one has no heat for five days & counting…believe me. You’d think otherwise.

As long as the T shirt is not a man like boxey T.

It must be Fab ” for” over Fifty. May be The logo running along the neck or along the sleeve? More like trim. A bit slenderizing, and Fab.

A bit more subtle than a BIG Fab over Fifty> design on the front or back! So we can really wear it!

    From your friends in Colorado!
    Good Luck and Happy flying!!!!

      Hi Jodie,

We agree totally about fit. Adore your idea of the logo running along the neck or the sleeve. We were thinking of it in the same position as a monogram, but I like your ideas better.

      We launch on Thursday.

      Love,
      Geri

          Hi Jodie,

I can’t wait to meet Tova on Tuesday. She’s a pistol. We would love you to spread the word in Denver area. And your tee-shirt ideas ARE fab. Your logo neck idea got a thumbs up from my son, who is discriminating :)

          Love,
